FARE FOOTBALL PEOPLE ACTION WEEKS 2015

Big thanks to all those who participated in the FARE Football People Action Weeks which took place in Ireland throughout October and early November. We had a great response from Airtricity League clubs hosting matches with Direct Provison Centres and other groups at risk of discrimination. SARI SOCCERNITES 2016

The SARI Soccernites 2016 season starts on Friday 5th February at the Clontarf All Weather pitches in Clontarf, Dublin 3 just next to the Clontarf Road DART station. This year there are two sections: Boys aged 14-17 from 5-6pm and boys aged 18 and over from 6-7pm. SARI Soccernites training is combined with certified Youth Leadership development and employability programmes.

SOCRATES: FOOTBALL FOR DEMOCRACY

The SARI Socrates Football for Democracy is a voter and political education project that uses football as a campaign tool to increase political engagement of members of migrant communities, Traveller and Roma communities along with faith groups in the civil society in Co Louth. It is also aimed to equip members of ethnic minority communities with leadership skills and confidence to better understand the impact that politics has on their daily lives and situations and to encourage members of these communities to engage in the democratic political process.

Monday 18th January was Martin Luther King Day and a national holiday in the United States. King is best known for his advancement of Civil Rights using non-violent civil disobedience based on his Christian beliefs.
