SARI are currently delivering a physical activity workshop on the United Nations Global Development Goals to junior cycle or transitional year students in schools across the country - one in each county this term. The purpose of the free workshop is to introduce students to global development using sport activities. Schools whose students demonstrate knowledge of the UN development goals at the end of the workshop will be presented with SARI Global Goals Star Player Award

The workshop activities involve:

  • An interactive exercise and critical discussion introducing students to global development
  • An energiser game (Oval Team Pass) played with development goals education perspective
  • A group game of throw ball (an Indian national sport) with development goals education perspective

This workshop session fits into 3 key skills identified in junior cycle curriculum ( staying well, being creative & working with others) and also the CSPE subject.

If your school is interested in taking part please contact Tosin Omiyale at: info@sari.ie

The programme is supported by Irish Aid and Worldwise Global Schools
