SARI premiere for "INVICTUS"

SARI partnered with Warner Brothers for the Irish premiere of Clint Eastwood's INVICTUS at the Savoy Cinema, Dublin, on Tuesday 2nd February - exactly twenty years, to the day, after then President of South Africa, FW de Klerk, lifted the ban on the ANC and announced that the government would soon free Nelson Mandela - after 27 years in prison.

Nelson Mandela was freed from prison nine days later and in 1994 was elected President in the first fully representative democratic election. President Mandela had the vision to recognize the power of sport as a tool for breaking down barriers, for bringing people together. INVICTUS tells the incredible story of Mandela reaching out to South African rugby captain, Francois Pienaar, and creating a partnership which led to South Africa winning the World Cup in 1995. Morgan Freeman is superb as President Mandela and is more than ably supported by Matt Damon as Francois Pienaar.
