IN MEMORY OF TOYOSI SHITTABEY
The life of Toyosi Shittabey was commemorated with a rally in Dublin city centre on Saturday 10th April. Toyosi was stabbed to death on Good Friday near his home in Tyrrellstown, West Dublin.
2,000 people - including family, friends , Muslim and Christian groups, trade unions, political parties and many African community groups - marched from the Garden of Remembrance to the Dail Eireann. the rally was addressed by Jack O'Connor, the president of SIPTU, and Socialist MEP Joe Higgins along with friends and leaders from the irish, Chinese and Nigerian community. Two white male adults have been charged in relation to his killing.
