FIFA'S FOOTBALL FOR HOPE FESTIVAL AT THE WORLD CUP IN SOUTH AFRICA

SARI are one of thirty two charities from around the world selected by FIFA to take part in the Football For Hope Festival at the World Cup in South Africa - a festival of education, culture and football. The SARI delegation is made up of boys and girls aged 14 - 18 from the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. The team will be leaving for South Africa on June 27th and will participate in a week of activities promoting the exchange of ideas and experiences, including discussions on topics such as HIV/Aids, football coaching workshops and cultural performances, before the football tournament begins. In this tournament mixed teams of boys and girls will compete without referees. Any disagreements on the pitch are resolved through dialogue - a method proven to encourage personal development and mutual understanding.

Once the delegation has arrived in South Africa all costs will be taken care of by FIFA/Football For Hope. However the flights to South Africa and all preparation expenses have to be covered by SARI. To this end SARI are fundraising and would welcome your support. If you would like to support the delegation please contact SARI at info@sari.ie or you can make a donation on-line through this website.
