15-YEAR-OLD BOY STABBED TO DEATH IN WEST DUBLIN

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our young friend, the Insaka-Ireland Football trainee and Shelbourne FC player, Toyosi Shittabey (15) who died of stab wounds following a violent incident in Tyrellstown, West Dublin on Friday night.

Toyosi was a participant on Insaka-Ireland AFC football Saturday sessions and was developing the playing side of his game under the wing of coach Samuel Opoku and his colleagues at Shelbourne FC.

As our young footballers from the African diaspora are regularly subjected to racist abuse during football games and in the street, the Garda Siochona have been asked to investigate if the fatal attack was carried out by a racist person motivated by hatred of another Human Being.

The directors of SARI extend their deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Toyosi and pledge to continue to use the medium of Sport to eradicate the evil of racism from our society.
