The SARI INSAKA team have won the UNHCR/SARI World Refugee Day Fair Play Cup beating holders HOT PRESS 1-0 in the final. The Women's Cup was won by MOSNEY - beating a mixed NGO team in a two-legged final. This was the 2nd Annual World Refugee Day Fair Play Cup held to celebrate the contribution of Refugees in sport throughout Irish communities and for people in Ireland to learn more about Refugees and the continued plight of millions of people throughout the world forced to flee their homes and seek refuge and protection.

The 7-a-side tournament featured teams drawn from refugee and community groups, Government agencies and members of the media with players from a host of different countries including Angola, South Africa, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Zimbabwe and Ireland competing in the men's and women's competitions: Hot Press, SARI Insaka, Horn of Africa People's Aid (HAPA), Department of Justice, Cross Care, Camfoot (representing the Cameroon community), Newstalk FM, mixed NGO men's and women's teams and Mosney. Dil Wickremasinghe from Global Village on Newstalk FM was on hand to present the trophies and Eoin McDevitt from Off The Ball on Newstalk FM MC'd and played for the Newstalk team.

SARI and UNHCR would like to thank all those who participated and all our sponsors, supporters and volunteers. And to DJ JK who played the tunes.
