This Saturday there will be fabulous food, colourful teams and cheering supporters, in the magnificent grounds of Malahide Cricket Club for the annual Ranji cricket tournament. This event is free and all are welcome.

Thirteen teams will compete in a fun cricket tournament of 'smash and dash' 6-over matches, to commemorate a legend of the game who remains a symbol of communal harmony for Ireland and India. This event is supported by SARI.

Those attending will include Her Excellency Mrs Radhika Lal Lokesh, Indian Ambassador, Kevin O'Brien, the man who broke British hearts in Bangalore and Anne Chambers, Author of 'Ranji: Maharaja of Connemara', who personally donated the perpetual trophy. Her Highness, Raksha Rajkumari, Ranji's great-grand-daughter will attend the Ranji Cricket Tournament at Malahide Cricket Grounds on the day and will present the Ranji Trophy to the winning team.

The tournament will take the form of a round robin contest, with teams of six players each, representing leading Irish and global companies, including ESB, Ernst & Young, Fidelity Investments, Google, Intel, Microsoft, Rabobank, Real TV, RSL, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and AA Insurance Ireland.
