Please join us this Sunday 2nd July for the 8th annual SARI and UNHCR World Refugee Day Fair Play Cup. The 7-a-side tournament features teams drawn from refugee and community groups, direct provision centres, NGOs and members of the media. Over 160 players from a host of different countries including Syria, Angola, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Eritrea and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

As of 2016 there were 65.3 million refugees, asylum seekers and internally displaced people in the world. Each year on June 20th the United Nations, the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) and countless civic groups around the world host World Refugee Day (WRD) events to draw attention to the millions of refugees and internally displaced people worldwide who have been forced to leave their homes due to war, conflict, persecution or natural disaster. This year SARI and UNHCR decided to delay the WRD Fair Play Cup until after the end of Ramadan.
