FARE FOOTBALL PEOPLE ACTION WEEKS AGAINST DISCRIMINATION
Every October FARE (Football Against Racism in Europe) run the Football People Action Weeks Against Discrimination which set out to unite supporters, clubs, ethnic minorities and communities affected by discrimination in a concerted effort to make discrimination a thing of the past. During this time SARI tours the country in a Football People branded vehicle delivering free anti-discrimination football training workshops in primary schools. These sessions comprise football training games and exercises with inbuilt awareness of what it means to discriminate both on and off the pitch. Addressing issues such as sexism, racism and homophobia the workshops are delivered by young SARi coaches - many from ethnic minority backgrounds.
SARI also organises for Airtricity League clubs to host matches against teams from refugee communities, Direct Provision Centres and other at risk communities. For example: St. Pat's v the Travellers, Drogheda United v Mosney, etc
And at grass roots SARi supports organisations across the country in hosting events to mark and celebrate FARE Action Weeks.
