With FARE Football People Weeks launching on Thursday 9th October SARI are working closely with the FAI, Show Racism The Red Card and League of Ireland clubs to promote and showcase actions in support of the pan-European Football People Weeks which run until 23rd October. SARI kicked off the Action Weeks with a presentation at Mount Carmel school in Dublin on Thursday evening. This will be followed up by a match on Thursday 16th October between Mount Carmel School and SARI’s Hijabs and Hat-tricks team Diverse City.

On Saturday the Irish national team will be supporting the FARE Weeks in their match against Gibraltar at the Aviva Stadium.

Over the two weeks many grassroots clubs, schools and youth groups will be organising actions to deliver the anti-racism and message. We will be posting information about these.

SARI is also working with League of Ireland clubs to link them with residents of their local Direct Provision Centres to invite them to a match, organise training sessions and to play a match in support of FARE Action Weeks. These clubs include Dundalk, Drogheda, Sligo Rovers, Galway United, Athlone Town, Limerick, Cork, Waterford, UCD, St. Patrick's Athletic, Bohemians and Shamrock Rovers.

There is still time to organise an event in support of FARE Football People Action Weeks so just let us know if you would like any support.
